Karen Reeder for Texas HD 29

Meet Karen Reeder
Karen Reeder was born and raised in Georgia, where she was rooted in southern hospitality, good food, and family values that taught her the importance of integrity, community, and hard work. Those early lessons shaped the foundation for who she is today — a proud Texan, a mother, and a leader who believes in showing up, keeping her word, and doing what’s right for the people she serves.
After earning her degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Karen moved to Houston, Texas, to begin her career in the oil and gas industry — one of the toughest, most competitive fields in the country. Over the years, she’s led and managed countless projects and strategic initiatives designed to improve performance, reduce costs, and streamline operations across departments and organizations.
Her professional experience as a project manager taught her that good leadership isn’t about power — it’s about purpose. Karen has a proven record of turning challenges into results, building consensus among teams, and guiding complex projects from start to finish with precision, accountability, and transparency. She knows how to solve problems under pressure, manage budgets responsibly, and deliver measurable results — the same kind of common-sense leadership she’ll bring to Austin.
But beyond the titles and timelines, Karen is most proud of her role as a mother and community leader. She’s been raising her family in Texas since her early career days and has seen firsthand what families in Brazoria County go through — from rising costs and healthcare access issues to the need for safer roads, better schools, and fair opportunities.
Karen’s passion for education, fairness, and community empowerment drives everything she does. She believes every person deserves to be heard, every child deserves a chance, and every community deserves representation that actually works for them. With deep roots in Texas and a career built on results, Karen Reeder is ready to bring real leadership, honest communication, and proven problem-solving to the Texas House. She’s not running for attention or a title — she’s running to make life better for the people who call Brazoria County home.
“Leadership isn’t about titles — it’s about trust. My goal is simple: to lead with integrity, serve with heart, and make sure Brazoria County’s voice is heard loud and clear.” — Karen Reeder
